'Never let formal education get in the way of your learning'. Mark Twain.

When deciding which partners to learn the most from, and after a long period of thorough research seeking for prominent experts, unexpectedly we were directed to the University of Gävle, thanks to the generous help of our great colleague Paco Navarro, teacher of Biology at IPEP of Jaén during the time this Erasmus+ project was being designed. As a student, Paco Navarro happened to be a student of Boreal Ecology at that prestigious Swedish University. Conscious of their excellent reputation, he fervently suggested we contact them in order to find a partner for the ICT area of our project. That was how we approached professor Davoud Masoumi.

By the Erasmus+ coordinator.

Rethinking educational practices for adults, prison students and young offenders

Since the beginning of our Erasmus relationship, Mr Masoumi offered his expertise in the field of Digital, Remote and Blended Learning, which is at the core of our project. IPEP of Jaén has endevoured to find a sensible solution to all the restrictions that Digital Learning currently faces in prison schools, with the ultimate aspiration of providing a more suitable, effective and practical educational response to inmates.

Masoumi’s research interest is mostly centered on the ways information and communication technologies (ICT) changes the conditions for knowing and learning in contemporary society, how ICT transforms educational practices and teaching and learning within these practices, how learning tools, environments and infrastructures can be designed, implemented and evaluated to enhance teaching and learning. He also has an interest in quality in education, i.e. the ways that quality in higher education can be enhanced and assured. He is member of the ICT in Learning research group at the University of Gävle.
