#inspiringtimes: The adventures of Tom Sawyer.

If our dear friend Tom had lived in the XXI century, and had had to live through this -let's just say curious and turmoil times- that we have to go through, I am pretty sure he would pack up his stuff and would go away on an Erasmus+ trip without a second thought, no doubt.

After last month's challenge, today I am going to suggest that you read another book. You see, I am so naughty! Books! Well, as a matter of fact, I have always been kind of unruly and disobedient, and to be honest, I do enjoy it!

Question 1: why is 'suggest' a special word in terms of grammar?
Question 2: why can we use 'do' in 'I do enjoy it'?

So, let's get to the point: one of my favorite books, for many different reasons, has always been The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, considered by many a masterpiece of American literature. Tom is a kid, just like me or maybe even like you, who hated school (I did), like me, who did not like to work and who hated getting up in the morning, like me.

Question 3: what's the meaning of....turmoil?

1. without a second thought?
2. maybe even?
3. masterpiece?
4. as a matter of fact?
5. challenge?

However, he loved being outdoors, having adventures, getting into troubles, going out fishing and, basically, doing all those things our parents tell us not to as a general rule. And that is why I love it, simply because he is such a rebellious, a little bit mischievous, wicked, naughty young 'cenutrillo asilvestrado' who was always in search of bold and fearless adventures.

Question 4: what's the meaning of...

6. naughty?
7. mischievous?
8. fearless?
9. in search of?
10. bold?
11. wicked?

Today, and thanks to the selfless help of two of my best friends, British, from the stunning, awe-inspiring town of Poole, in the amazing Jurassic Coast of England, Mr Dave and Mrs Sheila Warbis, who have kindly offered to read aloud the book for us, in their wonderful English, we all will begin to enjoy this special, extraordinary moment in our life with the adventures of Tom, whom I am sure you will love.

By the way, why don't we send them a gift as a token of our appreciation? How about paying close attention to both Dave while, at the same time, trying to imagine, to picture the scenes and the scenery in our minds?

This book can be downloaded for free from some webpages, but I am going to suggest you the Oxford Bookworms Library, stage 1. Maybe you have the book at home from one of your elder siblings. Who knows, stranger things have happened!

I will test your knowledge of vocabulary with some games; I will provide you with some of the most difficult words as well, with some lists, too.
