😱😱😱😱😱😱 'The Lemon Tree'.

You can click on the following link to learn a little bit more about the use of -ed or -ing words, and even, if you are TOO BORED, you can complete some of the activities and send them to me.

Pues vamos a ello: Changing perspectives. Pensad en ello. Ya comenzamos el pasado viernes durante la última clase: RESPONSIBILITY, CRISIS, SOCIETY, TOGETHER, HELP EACH OTHER, y otras palabritas con mucha importancia que surgieron.

Original idea by Manuel Molina, designed by Ana María Rodríguez, 1º ESO B.

Do you remember that very long word, etimology that we have already analysed in our lessons

Well, it is high time we began to reflect upon how you all, and me too (that's going to be a real hurdle), can be more responsible, how we should begin to adjust our every day habits to our current situation, how we all need to begin to think about new ways of working together, helping each other to overcome this painful, gruelling but, at the same, hopeful time we have ahead of us.

Gracias, Javier.

And why Lemon tree? I am sure you must have already guessed, since you all managed to learn the lyrics by heart while dancing to the music. Well, let's see and try to recall what the message
was: Isolation is not meant for you...

If we had known what was about to happen, we would have recorded the song as a group! Now, we could watch it and have a wonderful time!

And now, our compulsory homework, which, in this case, is a challenge: What if you manage to sing this song with as many members of your family, in your beautiful, 'boquerón' English and post in on the blog, or Twitter and then we choose the best, the funniest, the most inspiring singers?

If you want to use Twitter to post your videos for the contest, you will have to use the hastag #iessierramaginamr and #inspiringtimes with @mmolpor2006

Or if you prefer, do send me your clips to your google classroom account.

I'll be waiting for your clips! And remember, the worst, the most hopeless, impossible, horrible singer in the world is YOUR TEACHER, me, just listen, but don't laugh too much, dear fellow!

Deadline for submissions: Saturday 13, March, 2021.

And, incidentally, I would like to recommend you something HORRIBLE these days, something WEIRD, something ABSURD, something some people hate because of its consequences: it will make you THINK, PONDER AND MUSE

I would like you to READ a book, to enjoy it, to savor it, to relish this book. We will have plenty of time ahead of us, probably much more than two weeks. It is a difficult book, but very inspiring, interesting, appealing and thoughtful. You all have already proved that you can do it, so, shall we do it?

Let's go then: The novel is called GREAT EXPECTATIONS, and was written by a person who decided to read, to think and to write, CHARLES DICKENS

There are some adaptations of the original novel which you can easily find online. I promise you that you will ENJOY reading this short novel much more than you can imagine, and, on top of that, it is a BOOK that will make you CHANGE YOUR PERSPECTIVE on many, many, many issues, which is what you will do, sooner or later. Better sooner.
