III ÉPOCA. ERASMUS+ IPEP JAÉN. El paso del Ecuador. Sistema penitenciario polaco.

Hubert es una de esas pocas personas sorprendentes que, sin haber visto nunca en tu vida, decide creer en ti, confiar en ti, ayudarte simplemente por el mero hecho de creer, confiar y ayudar. Las buenas personas abundan, más de lo que parece.

Plock, Polonia. En el quinto, o sexto, pino de nuestra atribulada Europa, se haya una antigua prisión en la que nuestro amigo Hubert trabaja desde hace ya muchos años. Allí ha llegado el Erasmus+ IPEP de Jaén. A 3124 km de nuestros milenarios olivares.

Repensando las prácticas educativas para adultos, estudiantes penitenciarios y menores infractores.

Cuando hace ya más de un año me puse en contacto con Hubert y le presenté nuestra propuesta de organizar un Erasmus+ centrado en analizar a fin de mejora la docencia con alumnos penitenciarios, independientemente de su edad, éste me contestó con un sí rotundo tras un sólo mensaje de correo electrónico. 

Sorprendente.

Una muestra de su entusiasmo:

'Let me first say - the plans you have just provided me with are nothing more but AMAZING!!! Especially I love the idea of having the Congress and creation of the syllabus!!! This is really a fantastic idea!!! I am keeping my fingers crossed for your success! I know how hard it is to implement such plans and from my experience I know that prison staff (everywhere, not just in Poland) are not so much happy when people like us want to do something more for the prison/prisoners. Hopefully, in your institution it will be easier! I am absolutely wishing you 150% success, be it with my help or without it!!!'

14 meses después, Tomás Mateo y Ángel Santiago, Director y Jefe de Estudios del IPEP de Jaén respectivamente, han podido visitar las instalaciones educativas de la cárcel de Plock, debatir y compartir ideas con Hubert y 3 colegas del CEPA RETAMAR de la soleada Almería, Javier, Valeria y Margarita, y reflexionar sobre nuestro trabajo, que, al fin y a la postre, es a lo que han ido. Durante esta semana, están inmersos en un viaje job shadowing enmarcado en nuestro proyecto Erasmus+, que, sin darnos cuenta, ha enviado ya a 16 heraldos de Jaén a 5 países diferentes. Y lo que te rondaré, morena. 

Hemos pasado el Ecuador.

Hubert pergeñó un intenso programa de trabajo, equilibrado, jugoso, atractivo, que incluye también tiempo necesario para disfrutar de la cultura polaca, para descubrir otra forma de vida diferente, para conocer nuevas personas y otras maneras de entender la vida. Erasmus+ abre las mentes y enriquece a las personas, según su propio lema. Son tiempos de comidas que se alargan en tertulias y debates que se nutren de las ricas vivencias de docentes que llevan muchos años en primera línea de trincheras, con las tizas -ahora injustamente postergadas y olvidadas- y sus conocimientos como armas, mas no letales sino vivíficas, que inculcan saberes, que inspiran ideas, que reaniman al que más lo necesita, en tétricos centros penitenciarios en su mayoría olvidados por gran parte de la sociedad. 

Plock, Hubert, gracias en nombre del IPEP de Jaén por vuestra generosidad, por ofrecer esta gran oportunidad Erasmus+ a nuestro centro, por creer, confiar y ayudar sin ni siquiera habernos visto las calvas.

Stowarzyszenie na rzecz edukacji osób wykluczonych społecznie o nazwie "Busola" (Socially excluded education association called "Busola")

Type of institution:

NGO target students adult prisoners, number of students the number changes due to the rotation of prisoners, of teachers the association has about 25 members, out of which 12-15 are active prison educators, and so on.

A brief description of the strengths of the institutions from which we may learn from:

Socially Excluded Education Association "Busola" is a relatively young body that was brought into existence in March 2016. It is an institution that focuses people working for the sake of adult prisoners. These prisoners are students of prison schools. The main reason why the association was established is the will to run educational, cultural, sporting and training activities for the sake of the prison school students and their educators. Majority of members of the association are active educators working in the field of prison education, directly involved in the social rehabilitation process - these are either prison school teachers or school management team members or occupational therapists. These people have a several years long practice in working with prisoners. The target group in our case are prisoners serving time in Plock prison. The population in the penal unit is about 620. Obviously, not everyone can take part in our projects and not everyone is eligible, but since we are in good terms with the prison school and the section for inmates with mental disorders, it is not difficult to reach out to the target group and organize a group(s) which can take part in activities. If it comes to the number of the staff of our organization, it comprises of about 25 members, out of which 12-15 are really active ones. Some of them are members that do not work or live in the town where the HQ of the association is. All of the members work/act as volunteers so none staff member is a paid one.
